Flu Recommendations Upgraded To Restrictions

Our primary goal at Henry Community Health is to provide the best quality of care in an environment that is safe for our patients, visitors, and staff. To protect them, at times we must manage their exposure to illnesses that are easily spread, like the flu.

We carefully monitor flu activity levels in our hospitals and the community and flu activity levels now have us restricting patient visitors at the hospital.  When these thresholds are met, we must take action to halt the spread and limit the number of visitors allowed in our patient areas.

If you are visiting our hospital now, please be advised of the following restrictions for limited visitation:

·         No more than two (2) visitors plus one (1) designated care giver/support person may be present in a patient’s room at any time

·         No one under the age of 16 may visit the hospital Exception: In the Women and Children’s Unit only healthy siblings, who have had the flu vaccination, of any age are permitted to visit healthy newborns for one visit.

·         If you have a fever, cough, body aches, or a sore throat, please postpone your visit until you have been symptom-free for 24 hours

·         Visitors will be allowed for patient’s who are near the end of life.

We understand this may be challenging and we will keep these restrictions in place only for as long as necessary when influenza is widespread.
