Laurie (Stonerock) Abrams, DHSc, MA, CPT, has served as Henry County Hospital’s Director of Wellness in the physical therapy department at HealthRidge since 1999. She has been a medical health and wellness specialist, aerobic/aquatic instructor, fitness manager, and personal trainer for over 25 years.
She holds her doctorate in Health Sciences from A.T. Still University. Her Master’s, Bachelor’s, and Associate’s degrees (as well as her undergraduate and postgraduate certifications) are in Management/Exercise Science, Exercise Science/Pre Med, General Studies/Math and Science, Personal Training, and Leadership/Organizational Behavior from Indiana University, Ashford University, and A.T. Still University.
Laurie also holds many other certifications and course certificates in strength training and conditioning, aerobics, aquatics, cancer exercise, Tai Chi for Balance, etc. She has recently conducted cancer exercise research via a retrospective chart review of cancer patients for whom she had prescribed rehabilitative exercise during an eleven year period. She remains passionate about learning and using it to serve others during their journey to an improved quality of life.
