Henry Community Health has been recognized for two distinctions in quality excellence from Healthgrades: the Healthgrades 2018 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ and the Healthgrades 2018 Outstanding Patient Experience Award™. Healthgrades is the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.

Only 65 out of just over 4,500 hospitals evaluated for patient safety and patient experience excellence achieved both distinctions for the reporting period 2014-2016. This places Henry Community Health within the top 2 percent of eligible hospitals in the nation to receive both awards. This distinction recognizes Henry Community Health for excellent performance in safeguarding patients from serious, potentially preventable complications, as well as providing a positive experience for patients during their hospital stays.

Becker’s Hospital Review has again named HCH as one of “100 Great Community Hospitals” on its 2018 list.  Becker’s also named HCH as a top 100 Community Hospital in 2017 and 2016. Hospitals featured on this list play a key role in their communities and are recognized for quality, patient satisfaction and overall excellence.

2017 Top 100 Hospitals-Truven Analytics

We are one of only seven Indiana hospitals to achieve this prestigious award which rates hospitals in four categories: Major Teaching Hospital, Large Community Hospital, Medium Community Hospital and Small Community Hospital which is where HCH was rated. The Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals is the most comprehensive, academically driven study of its kind. It evaluates clinical and operational performance in 11 areas, addressing: inpatient mortality, 30-day mortality rate, complications, core measures, 30-day risk-adjusted readmission rate, severity-adjusted average length of stay, mean emergency room throughput, inpatient expense per discharge, Medicare spend per beneficiary, adjusted operating profit margin and Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) score (patient rating of overall hospital performance, Truven Health Analytics is a leading provider of information and solutions that support healthcare cost and quality improvement.

Advanced Wound Center Recognized With National Award

The Center of Distinction Award has been given to our Advanced Wound Center by Healogics, the nation’s leading and largest wound care management company. The Advanced Wound Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a wound healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 31 median days. Out of 630 Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, 334 achieved this honor in 2017. The Wound Care Center® is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 800 Centers, with access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds The Advanced Wound Center offers highly specialized wound care including hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
