Low-Income adults 19-64 may be eligible for the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP)

  • Financial help based on family size and income.
  • Medical expenses such as doctor visits, hospital care and prescriptions.
  • Vision and dental care may be provided.
  • Additional information at HIP.IN.gov.
  • From November 1-December 15 HIP members have the opportunity to switch to another health plan for 2021.

Henry Community Health and Henry Community Health Medical Group providers are accepting new HIP patients and participate in all four plans: Anthem HIP, MHS HIP, CareSource HIP, and MDwise HIP.

Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

For children up to age 19 whose families have slightly higher incomes and may not qualify for other programs. Depending on the family’s income there may be a small monthly premium payment and co-pay for some services.
The program covers medical care such as doctor visits, prescription medicine, mental health care, dental care, hospitalizations, and surgeries at little or no cost to the member or the member’s family.


Traditional Medicaid provides full health care coverage to low-income individuals who do not qualify for other plans. This includes people who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, live in nursing homes and intermediate care facilities and residents eligible for home and community-based services such as the aged, blind and disabled.
