Flu Recommendations at HCH Main Campus

Our primary goal here at Henry Community Health is to provide the best quality of care in an environment that is safe for our
patients, visitors, and staff. To protect them, at times we must manage their exposure to illnesses that are easily spread, like the flu.

We carefully monitor flu activity levels in our hospital and the community. When certain thresholds are met, we must take action to halt the spread and limit the number of visitors allowed in our patient areas.

If you are visiting our hospital during flu season, please be prepared for the possibility of limited visitation:

  • No more than two (2) visitors plus one (1) designated care giver/support person may be present in a patient’s room at any time
  • No one under the age of 16 may visit the hospital Exception: In the Women & Children’s Unit only—healthy siblings, who have had the flu vaccination, of any age are permitted to visit healthy newborns for one visit
  • If you have a fever, cough, body aches, or a sore throat, please postpone your visit until you have been symptom-free for 24 hours
  • There are no restrictions on visitors for patients who are near the end of life

We understand this may be challenging and we will keep these recommendations in place only for as long as necessary when influenza is widespread.

If you have a fever, cough, body aches, or a sore throat, please postpone your visit until you have been symptom-free for 24 hours

There are no restrictions on visitors for patients who are near the end of life.
