Welcome Dr. Lin Lu

Dr. Lin Lu has joined our practice where he will work with Dr. Romel Antolin, Dr. Bruce  Benninger and nurse practitioner Elles Niessen.

Board-certified in obstetrics/gynecology, Dr. Lu is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  He is skilled in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery and completed his OB/GYN specialty training at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC.  Dr. Lu received his medical degree from the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana University with a focus in Strategy and Innovation.

An Air Force veteran, Dr Lu was inducted in 2004 in South Bend, Indiana. During his Air Force service he was Department Chief of Gynecology/Laparoscopic Surgery at Nellis Air Force Base.

Dr. Lu is a long time Hoosier and grew up in Granger.  Having grown up in a small town, Dr. Lu feels compelled to serve the medical needs of smaller communities.  He was instrumental in developing and leading the new Women’s and Children’s Department at Parkview Wabash, his previous hospital.

“I strongly believe in an evidence based clinical approach to care,” explains Dr. Lu. “For my patients who have GYN problems, I prefer to listen to them about their problems and  look at options other than surgery. However, if surgery is needed, I am a strong proponent for using minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery which typically has a smaller incision, less pain and a shorter recovery time than traditional GYN surgery,” he continued.

“Having a baby is a happy time which is why I was drawn to obstetrics,” said Dr. Lu. “I think it is important to spend time listening to women’s concerns, explaining what to expect and be supportive of a natural childbirth if that is the woman’s preference.”

“I  look forward to working at Henry Community Health which has excellent patient safety and quality of care,” Dr. Lu emphasized.
