Henry Community Health’s Emergency Department provides rapid diagnosis of an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) following guidelines by the American College of Cardiology.
Depending on the patient’s condition and diagnosis we can provide thrombolytic therapy in our Emergency Department or immediate transfer for cardiac catheterization or other cardiac procedures to another facility that is appropriate for the patient’s condition. Emergencies can be transferred by ambulance or medical helicopter.
Intensive/Critical Care Unit (ICCU)
Cardiac patients admitted to the Intensive/Critical Care Unit (ICCU) are cared for by our intensive care team. Each patient is closely monitored 24-hours a day. In-room camera monitoring systems also allow nurses at the central nurses’ station to visually view patients. Patient privacy is always a priority and an individual camera can be disengaged for short periods of time when the need arises. Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase I is started in the ICCU once the patient has begun recovery.
