Independence
The common goal of remaining independent and moving healthcare forward in our communities is at the heart of everything SHO does.
Why Does Hospital Independence Matter?
Thriving independent health solutions are vital to our communities. We believe that when decisions are made locally, employees and patients benefit. Preserving our
independence keeps care local, where it belongs. Independence also fosters closer relationships with communities, along with a better understanding of community needs.
SHO recognizes the importance of hospital independence and provides:
- Economies of scale without mandates of a larges system
- Benefits of collective stability while allowing care to remain local and preserving deep-rooted ties to hospital communities
“Suburban Health Organization has allowed Henry Community Health to retain its locally owned and operating focus while giving us the leverage of a large scale health system. Through our collaborations, we are able to have stronger negotiating power which enables us to reduce healthcare costs for our system and our patients. The Affinity Groups provide a forum to share expertise and enhance the value we bring to our community in patient care, quality and patient safety initiatives.” – Brian Ring, President and CEO, Henry Community Health
