Meet Berlandie and Trevor Harris, proud parents who welcomed their fifth child at Henry Community Health Women and Children’s unit, located at Henry Community Health Hospital – Main Campus, in 2025. Richmond residents, the couple chose HCH after connecting with the OB/GYN team — and in this video, they open up about what the birthing experience there was truly like.
Video transcript
Berlandie: We’re the Harris’
Trevor: and we are honored to be an HCH family.
Berlandie: We have five kiddos age 9 to 10 months, four boys, one girl.
Trevor: We have a really wonderful family that we’re building and growing. Having five kids, life is like a circus. It’s a fun circus, but really couldn’t be more proud of our kids and who they’re becoming and who we are as parents, too.
Berlandie: I chose Henry Community Health because I did not have a great experience with my prior deliveries at another hospital.
Trevor: The experiences that we had at the previous hospitals that we’ve been at were not safe. They were very concerning situations and we found HCH.
Berlandie: We came and we met the team and it just felt like the best fit for us. We just loved everybody. I felt like everybody was welcoming. They don’t feel like my doctors, but not in like a negative way. Like I just feel like I’m having a conversation with my friend who cares about me.
Trevor: They’ve made us a priority. It goes a long way with us.
Berlandie: We got settled in our room. They came and checked in, you know, frequently as they needed to. And then when it was baby time, it, you know, everybody was just there. And I have no complaints about any of my care from start to finish. It has just been wonderful. Like I really cannot complain about anything. After I delivered Walker, they called me the next day after we went home to make sure that I was good. I feel like that’s what we always come back to is we just feel safe from the time we get here to the time we leave.
Trevor: It’s easy with the team here.
