Henry Community Health (HCH) has been recognized by Becker’s Review for a five-star rating for nurses’ communication based on Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey results from October 2023 to September 2024.
This prestigious recognition distinguishes HCH as one of only 19 Indiana hospitals to achieve this honor and the only hospital in the local area to receive this distinction.
The five-star rating reflects patient feedback regarding exceptional nursing staff performance in three critical communication areas: explaining medical information clearly to patients, listening carefully to patient concerns, and treating patients with courtesy and respect.
“This recognition is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our nursing team,” said Shelley Wilson, Chief Nursing Officer. “Our nurses work diligently every day not only to provide excellent clinical care but to ensure every patient feels heard, understood, and respected throughout their healthcare experience.”
The HCAHPS survey is a standardized instrument used to measure patients’ perspectives on hospital care across the United States. The communication with nurses’ domain is one of the most closely watched metrics, as it directly correlates with overall patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
HCH’s achievement in this area demonstrates the hospital’s commitment to patient-centered care and highlights the exceptional interpersonal skills and professionalism of its nursing staff.
To celebrate this significant accomplishment, HCH hosted a special reception for its nursing staff to recognize their dedication and the vital role they play in delivering exceptional patient care.
