Infrared Coagulation (IRC) is a simple, nearly painless office procedure that shrinks most hemorrhoids, only takes a few minutes and requires no special diet or advanced preparation.

Infrared Coagulation is a spin-off of laser technology and reduces the hemorrhoid by healing it so that blood coagulates and the hemorrhoid shrinks to a normal size. Infrared Coagulation is preferred to “rubber band” hemorrhoid surgery because there is less chance of infection and bleeding and our patients have less pain and recover quicker.

Hernia Repair

Hernias occur when a piece of intestine slips through a weakness in the abdominal wall, causing a bulge you can see and feel. They can develop around the naval (umbilical hernia), in the groin (inguinal hernia) or any place where you may have a surgical incision (incisional hernia).

New laparoscopic surgical techniques used by our surgeons allow many hernia repairs to be done on an outpatient basis. With these new techniques patients have less pain, a faster recovery and are back to their everyday routine much quicker.

For certain types of hernia repair, a piece of mesh or screen is used to strengthen the abdominal wall and prevent the hernia for recurring.
