Henry County Heart Society
In 1964, Dr. Dye joined Henry Community Health (HCH) and identified the critical need for a dedicated Critical Care Unit to monitor cardiac patients. Recognizing this important healthcare gap, a dedicated group of community leaders formed a committee and launched a fundraising initiative to establish this vital medical facility.
Through their efforts, the committee successfully raised sufficient funds to open a four-bed Critical Care Unit at HCH in 1964, marking one of the first such facilities in the state. Building on this success, the committee formally organized as the Henry County Heart Society in 1966.
Current Mission and Activities
The Henry County Heart Society continues to serve the community through several key initiatives:
Medical Equipment Support: The organization provides funding for the acquisition of state-of-the-art cardiac treatment equipment at Henry Community Health, ensuring patients have access to the most advanced medical technology available.

Community Education: The organization is committed to promoting cardiovascular health awareness through educational programs and equipment provision in all Henry County Schools, fostering early health education and prevention initiatives.
