Maddy Garreth, PA-C

I am a Physician Assistant with the HCH Orthopedic group. I grew up in New Castle and feel so fortunate to be here serving the community I’ve known my whole life! Orthopedic surgery is a very challenging yet rewarding specialty and I cannot imagine myself doing anything else. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family as well as being outdoors, reading, traveling, and cheering on the Indiana Pacers. Part of why I love health care is the opportunity to connect with my patients on a personal level. I look forward to seeing new and familiar faces in the clinic and the OR each week.
About Maddy Garreth
Why did you decide to go into healthcare?
Aside from enjoying science-based courses and continued learning, which are both necessary for successful health care careers, I have always had a strong desire to help people. In health care, and in orthopedics specifically, I am able to see and feel almost an instant difference in the way a person feels based on how I can use my medical knowledge and experience to help them. It is very rewarding, every day.
Why did you chose to work at HCH?
Choosing to work at HCH was an easy decision as I am from New Castle but I also worked here as a patient care tech before becoming a Physician Assistant. I have always felt that as a health care provider, my values aligned with those of HCH in a way that I aim to give excellent care while also creating lasting relationships and connections. The mission of caring for a patient like family is a goal I have in mind while evaluating and treating a patient. I give each patient the same patience, energy, and respect that I would want a member of my family to receive. These are the same values that HCH promotes and encourages for their employees.
