Communication and Your Privacy

In order to protect your privacy, please be prepared to give your nurse a code word you will share with family and friends so we will know whom we can share health status information when they call.


All patient rooms are equipped with HD televisions, telephones and wireless internet Public telephones are available on the ground floor near the main lobby.


Our Hospitalists practice full-time in the Hospital which allows them to spend more time on your care while you are a patient. Our Adult Hospitalists are members of the St.Vincent Adult Inpatient Medical Service and provide care for both medical and surgical patients. Our Pediatric Hospitalists attend high risk deliveries, care for newborns and for children admitted to the Women & Children’s Unit. They are members of New Castle Pediatrics and also are available for consultation for infants and children seen in the Emergency Department.

Mail & Flowers

Our volunteers deliver mail and flowers and will take your out-going mail. Mail received after your discharge is forwarded to your home. Mail and flower deliveries are not accepted for patients who have requested their name and information be omitted on the Patient Directory.


Your physician will prescribe your diet. If you have questions concerning your diet, ask your nurse to contact the dietitian to come to your room to discuss your meal plan with you.
