Rebecca Layman, PA-C

Back & Neck, Pain Management

I am a Physician Assistant specializing in Interventional Spine and Pain. After completing my education in North Dakota, I moved to Indiana to begin my career as a PA in 2017 where I started in Orthopedics. After six years in Orthopedics, I transitioned to Interventional Spine and Pain. I am committed to improving patients’ quality of life by helping them choose the most appropriate minimally invasive procedures and pain management strategies while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and son. We enjoy traveling and exploring new places, whether biking, hiking, or just being outdoors. We’re always up for a new adventure.

About Rebecca Layman

Why did you decide to go into healthcare?

I decided to pursue a career in healthcare because I grew up inspired by my mother who was a Physician Assistant in our rural town. Watching her compassionately care for her patients and make a real difference in their lives left a lasting impression on me. From a young age, I knew I wanted to follow a similar path and dedicate my life to helping others. Becoming a PA has allowed me to combine my passion for medicine with the opportunity to provide hands-on, meaningful care to those in need.

Why did you chose to work at HCH?

I chose to work at Henry Community Health because I wanted to make a meaningful impact in areas where access to healthcare is often limited. Growing up in the Midwest and completing my education in North Dakota, I saw firsthand the challenges rural patients face, from long travel times to fewer local medical resources. Working in a rural setting allowed me to build strong, lasting relationships with patients while providing comprehensive care that patients may not have otherwise received. Working with HCH is an opportunity for me to practice a wide range of medicine, expand my skills and truly connect with the community I serve.
