Quality and safety
A focus on quality, safety and service excellence is at the forefront of everything we do. Scorecards focus on these important areas with financial incentives available for Care Team members and employed physicians when goals are met.
A Safety Huddle is held every morning– including weekends – at 9 am for directors, supervisors and other key clinical staff. They review current safety events, census at the Hospital and provider offices, patient issues, complaints and compliments. Staff are asked to discuss any facility and technology issues and share concerns that might affect patients and staff and relay information to their departments.
The Director of Quality and Safety is responsible for an organization-wide patient safety program and process improvement initiatives to reduce medical/healthcare errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes.
We participate in the Indiana Hospital Association’s Inpatient and Outpatient Reporting Program. These measures, empirically supported by CMS and The Joint Commission, are used to gain process improvement and to standardize care. We utilize multidisciplinary teams to tackle issues like sepsis and readmissions and to help implement safety initiatives such as fall prevention protocols and maternal-fetal safety bundles.
