Henry Community Health is bringing life-saving preventive care directly to women in our community who need it most. On October 13th, we will host a free women’s health clinic at our Northfield Park location, offering essential screenings to women who are uninsured or underinsured.

Who Qualifies

This clinic is designed for women who meet the following criteria:

  • Ages 21–64
  • Uninsured or underinsured
  • Have not had a Pap exam in the last 12 months or longer
  • Have not had a total hysterectomy

If you or someone you know fits this description, this clinic is a valuable opportunity to receive care that might otherwise be out of reach.

What’s Included

Every woman who attends will receive access to critical, life-saving screenings, including:

  • Pap test
  • HPV screening
  • Breast exam

These screenings are among the most effective tools we have for catching cervical and breast cancer early — often before symptoms ever appear. Early detection dramatically increases the chances of successful treatment, which is why regular screening matters so much, especially for women who may have gone months or years without access to routine care.

Help with Insurance Coverage, Too

In addition to screenings, Amber Hall, our ClaimAid Patient Advocate, will be onsite during the clinic to help screen women for Medicaid or Marketplace insurance eligibility. If you’re unsure whether you qualify for coverage, Amber can walk you through your options and help determine what assistance may be available to you — making this clinic not just a place for screenings, but a starting point toward long-term access to care.

Why Screening Matters

Cervical cancer and breast cancer are both highly treatable when caught early, yet many women delay or skip screenings due to cost, lack of insurance, or simply not having an easy way to access care. A Pap test can detect precancerous changes in the cervix before they ever become cancer. HPV screening helps identify the virus responsible for most cervical cancer cases. And a clinical breast exam can catch changes that may warrant further evaluation.

Skipping these screenings doesn’t make the risk go away — it just means problems are more likely to be found later, when they’re harder to treat. This clinic exists to remove the barriers that keep women from getting the care they deserve.
